MERI ZAAT ZARRA-E-BENISHAAN

I was kind of surprised not to find any thread about this drama on here - or maybe it was just Janaat and I that were super hyped up about it. Two episodes have been and gone and the third one airs on this Saturday I believe. As of now the scene is being set and the protagonist of the drama, Saba, has passed away and her daughter now lives with her first husband. Currently there are flashbacks depicting the demeanour of her in-laws who basically treated her like crap. But now they seem to have changed and repenting for "sins". As of now I find the cinematography to be brilliant and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's amazing voice is interwoven throughout. Utterly amazing!

The story revolves around three brothers who have very different outlooks on life and bring up their children according to their own life philosophies. Destiny takes one of the youngest brother's educated daughters back to her homeland and her family find it hard to accept an educated and bright 'girl' in their midst. Fate sees this young girl marrying one of her own cousins despite opposition from the whole family. In a desperate bid to get rid of her, the heroine is falsely accused of infidelity by her mother-in-law, who falsely swears on the Quran, forcing her son to divorce his new wife. This has long term consequences on the whole family, who later repent the lies they were all a part of and desperately try to make amends…although perhaps now it is too late.

Jannat and Kish Mish got everyone hyped up about this and then decided to take a break till after their exams-! Like I didnt have enough to distract me already!

But anyway, I am not as patient as them...neither do I have patience to wait a whole week for a new episode, so im trying not to watch it just yet...Dont think it'll last very long though lol. I have only watched the first episode so far and liking it. Love the title song and and Imran Abbas

.. I caved in thanks to this thread. .. cried through the entire first episode thanks to Faisal Qureshi's impeccable acting and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's perfect timing.
I wish it would pick up a little bit since it's got me on the edge of my seat but I understand that these were the first two episodes.

The cast is stellar, everyone has done justice to their roles so far. I wonder who Sara's father is?! Sameena Peerzada, Samiya Mumtaz, Adnan Siddiqui, Faisal Qureshi are *brilliant*. I'm smitten by the both of them

Imran Abbas is still a kid, a very good looking one nonetheless.

Finally, something worthy to watch on TV. All the Javeria and Saud drama's seem to have taken over Geo ...

I was hyped up about it before I found Janaat - aaah brilliance it seemed from the moment "go"! Lol, I am like that too - I thought that I would sit down and watch it all in one go. But I just gave into temptation

Faisal Qureshi is AMAZING in the opening few acts - I think I definitley have a new found appreciation and respect for him! Imran Abbas - I cannot seem to understand the fascination that our fair ladies have with him. Maybe like you, I am an oldie, and think...bacha thik hai

As for it picking its pace - by episode two it has begun to do that in the flash backs. But Rahat's perfectly timed background music and the story as of yet seem to be exactly right.

Humaa!! OMG I am so excited!!yayyy!! Its sad how it only comes on once a week, I'm waiting impatiently for
the next episode. The novel as itself it great, its amazing! I can't read urdu, but while I was in pakistan
i got someone to read the entire novel. Its briliiant and it will really really make you think and cry.

Umera Ahmed rocks! Mere zaat zara e beneshaan just makes you think that you truly are you are in many ways
a useless speck, a dot without significance, and anything can happen to you at anytime without any given
notice.

OMG madi, Imran Abbass is so hot, I won't ruin it for those you havent read the novel, but omg dont u think sara and him
make a good pair, hehe.

coming from all of u kuriyan out there, i HAVE to watch this drama. Kishi and tooty have never disappointed me with their suggestions about dramay

..sada suhagan raho dono =p

i dont have the patience to wait a week for episodes..specially when im used to reading the ending of novel before the entire novel.. *sigh* i think this will teach me patience !!

i think i'll give it a try... sounds interesting, but after what happened in Tair-e-Lahoti i'm not sure if i want to watch the whole thing just to see my favorite character die in the end

i agree tair e lahooti was so sad, pasha died, but nevertheless it was good, sigh

this drama, has a happier ending, unless they change it from the novel lol..

gosh jannat, that was a disaster! ok here's what happened... i couldn't watch the last episode cause it wasn't up by the time i checked it... and then i let it go for about 2 weeks cause of the exams and all... khair, when i got done i mistakenly wrote on my fb status "going to watch the last episode of Tair-e-Lahoti" and before i knew it all of my crazy friends started bawling about the ending... i was so put off that i never saw the ending, lol... don't you just love it when people spoil the ending for you!!!

Miss_Asia, i'll put up my comments as soon as i start watching it...

i would recommand Dil, Diya, Dehleez and The Ghost for anyone who's super bored... it's was worth a watch...

With respect to the third episode, can I just say, I absolutely love a budding new romance that is done so eloquently and tastefully. *blushes* Let me also get the word "saadgi" in there as well. It was nice. They had me *gushing* .. =))

I also liked the contrast depicted between families which choose not to educate their daughters vs those who do. Surprisingly, this a common practice in our culture today along with cousin marriages which I'm assuming is not going to be the subject of discussion in this drama.

Wese, Asia, Imran Abbas is good to look at

He gives you a break from the emotional roller coaster that is unfolding in all the other scenes which can also come off as annoying/a disruption/distraction! (=P) I hope his role becomes a little more meatier. He doesn't exactly have a presence as of yet ..

BTW, you're going to fall in love with Samiya Mumtaz (if you haven't already!) after watching her interview on the NKS. She's down right earthy and simply great.

Also, has anyone watched Meri Unsuni Kahani?

Is this a 13-14 episode drama serial like "Doraha" kay otherwise? I started watching "Buri Aurat" but then after 27th episode, i couldn't take it anymore.. My sister thou still watches it as she can't leave a drama until its finished. Poor her....lol

It's based on a novel so the number episode is probably going to be limited. Endless drama's are cruetly. At some point the storyline just dies and absurd happenings begin to occur - like "the husband never really died, someone else's body was mistaken for his" .. dear God!

As much as I hate that show, I did manage to watch their interview online! She is a bit sarcastic at times, but funny, and simple ... I thought it was great how she completely admitted to the fact she is a farmer !

I wish I hadn't found out about this drama until its final episode had aired on tv. That way, I could just watch in one go over a weekend..Now, I have to wait until next Saturday for episode 5?..this blows. It's a bit slow moving, but it's definitely interesting.

..i love the saadgi as well.its not like chichora pan that is there in drama`s these days
yay ive watched 4 episodes !!! .. im loving the drama .. however..what`s with sara`s nakhray towards imran abbas..how can someone do nakhray to such cute bacha

I hope so too. Will wait for all the episodes to be online. Its better to watch all of them in one sitting. Thou the drama is so slow. If it wasn't for the girl (saba's daugther). I would have stopped the first episode in the middle too...

I'm guessing the 5th episode did not air in Pakistan hence it hasn't been uploaded. Perhaps it was due to the Muharram programming?

We're off to a dawat but I managed to sneak in the 5th episode. I just have enough time to say two things - this drama emphasizes 'ek aurat hi dosri aurat ki sabse bari dushman hoti hai' - an auntyish message perhaps (

) and the second being - keep your saas, nandain and all other females happy to prevent all odd ball catty-ness.

Honestly, the life of a woman is so full of responsibilities whereever she goes. Allah mian hum sab ke naseeb achay karain, Inshallah *:-D*

to add to ur aurat wali baat..there's this another mahawra that's auntyish but stand true.. aurat hi ghar ko jannat ya jahannum banati hai =d .. after looking at all the aunties in the community i think its very true
