Khatam - ul - Qur'an, Mz Options

Asalamo alaikum,

On welcoming Ramadhan, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW) gave a sermon:

O People! The month of Allah (Ramadhan) has approached you with His mercy and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in the estimation of Allah. Its days are the best among the days; its nights are the best among the nights. Its hours are the best among the hours.
This is a month in which he has invited you. You have been, in this month, selected as the recipients of the honors of Allah, the Merciful. In this holy month, when you breathe, it has the Sawab/thawab (heavenly reward) of 'Tasbeeh' (the praise of Allah on rosary beads), and your sleep has the thawab of worship.
Your good deeds are accepted in this month. So are your invocations. Therefore, you must invoke your Lord, in right earnest, with hearts that are free from sins and evils, that Allah may bless you, observe fast, in this month, and recite the Holy Quran.

Two years ago, with the help of Ali Imran, we had a Khatm-el-Qur'an on MuziqPakistan. With well over 15 members participating, we were able to recite the entire Qur'an twice, Mashallah.

I would like to thank Ali Imran, Tooty Frooty, Ayesha and her dad, JX, ML,Belal, Fresh girl, Kish Mish, A_Follower and all of the Anonymous members who made this possible. It was something 'good' that we did together as a team and for ourselves. Khatm-el-Qur'an thread
Since it is that time of year again, I thought we'd give this a go. InshAllah, we'll be able to complete at least one recitation.

During his sermon the Prophet (PBUH) said:

Whosoever recites in this month only one 'Ayat' (verse of the Holy Quran), he will be rewarded in a manner as if he had recited the full Holy Quran in the other months.

When Allah (SWT) is offering so many blessings during this holy month, why not plunge into 'em and seek the rewards?

There are a few simple rules that need to be followed to keep things in sync for this Khatm.

1) Each member signs up to read a Siparah either by posting in this thread or via PM (if you wish to keep your identity private). I'll add their name/alias to the list coinciding with the Siparah number.
2) Once the member has completed their reading, they will inform me by posting in this thread or via PM.
3) I will then write "Completed" beside their name.
4) I will update this post as we proceed.

*Side note:
A) Please do not subscribe to read more Siparahs than you can comfortably handle.
B ) If for any reason, you can not complete your Siparah, please inform me. You will not be in trouble. I'll read it for your or find someone else who can. This activity is not meant to cause discomfort to anyone.

Great to see the Khatam-el-Qu'ran back, Mashallah. Is it possible to assign 16, 17, 18 to me as opposed to Modern Newton? If that's all right with MN of course. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm already reciting at that place in the Qu'ran and would make things a lot more convenient.

Please let me know. If not I'm also flexible.

Narrated by 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ood, that the Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam said, “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a hasanah (good deed) from it (i.e. his recitation), and the hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is (considered as) a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” [Authentic, Tirmidhi (2912), Daarimi]

Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam said: "Read the Qur’an. For verily it will come forth on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its readers.” [Muslim]

@ Kish Mish: Unfortunately, there were no such people. Someone could be contemplating it in their heads though so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. =D The stats of people participating are pretty low this year if I say so myself ** but where there's a will there's a way. =) It's only the third day of Ramadhan and collectively we're completed 12 siparah's so that's a good sign, Alhumdolilah I don't want to get ahead of myself but I think we maybe able to target 3 readings?

Essentially, if I have at least two other people praying with me for the next set, I'll know we'll be able to finish it, Inshallah.

@ ML: Aww, I hope you feel better soon, Inshallah. It's a complete drag to be sick, period. Take your time, no rush my dear. That's a really good attitude whilst being sick though ^.^
