What exactly are gog and magog and when will they appear? unsure.gif Where are they right now and are they actually living on Earth at the moment? I heard that they are going to come near qayamat. unsure.gif

Some Quranic quotes:

18:99 (Zul-Qarnain was correct that such obstructions would become immaterial with time.) We will let some nations to invade others on a day when the trumpets of war will be blown. Then We will gather them together in battle-fields. (Gog and Magog, the powerful imperialist nations will exploit one another and the weaker nations and great wars will take place).

21:95 Hence, it has been unfailingly true of any community whom Our Law has annihilated, that they would never return to glory (unless),

21:96 And until Gog and Magog are let loose upon them and swarm down from every corner. (Imperialist nations run over and dominate them. And then after some passage of time the desire for freedom and glory germinates in their hearts once again 18:94).

Jazakallah khair for posting it. I think they do live on Earth at the moment and they live somewhere underground. Thank god I'll die before qiyamat comes, but you never know. dry.gif

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (S) said, "Every day, Gog and Magog are trying to dig a way out through the barrier. When they begin to see sunlight through it, the one who is in charge of them says, 'Go back; you can carry on digging tomorrow,' and when they come back, the barrier is stronger than it was before. This will continue until their time comes and Allah wishes to send them forth. They will dig until they begin to see sunlight, then the one who is in charge of them will say, 'Go back; you can carry on digging tomorrow, in shaa'Allah.' In this case he will make an exception by saying in shaa'Allah, thus relating the matter to the Will of Allah. They will return on the following day, and find the hole as they left it. They will carry on digging and come out against the people. They will drink all the water, and find the hole as they left it, and the people will entrench themselves in their fortresses. Gog and Magog will fire their arrows into the sky, and they will fall back to earth with something like blood on them. Gog and Magog will say, 'We have defeated the people of earth, and overcome the people of heaven.' Then Allah will send a kind of worm in the napes of their nacks, and they will be killed by it...'By Him a in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the beasts of the earth will become fat.'" [Tirmidhee, Abwaab al-Tafseer: Surat al-Kahf (Hadith 5160), 8/597-99; Ibn Maajah, Kitaab al-Fitan, (Hadith 4080), 2/1364. Ahmad, Musnad, 2/510, 511.]

very interesting question
I've read about them in Quran as well, but i also used to wonder that if they're alive right now then where r they?
In Quran I remember the words...not exactly but somewhat like this...aur yajooj majooj hur bulanday say dhoor rahay ho gaye...
I believe that it is going to be the north asian ppl. Since there r so many of them now in this world. They're sitting there quietly in China and the other northern Asian countries and when the time comes, it'll be these ppl who will be all over the earth according to how big their population...that will be running throughout the world from every place

It shouldn't really matter if the hadith is from a sunni book or not in this case.

Heres one for Sahih Bukhari and Muslims which basically states the same thing as before.

Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (R.A.) narrates that every day Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj break (dig) through the wall erected by Zul Qarnain (A.S.) until they reach the end of it to that extent that they can actually see the light on the other side. They then return (home) saying that 'We will break through tomorrow.' But Allah Ta'ala causes the wall to revert to its original thickness and the next day they start digging through the wall all over again, and this process continues each day until as long as Allah wills them to remain imprisoned. When Allah wishes them to be released, then at the end of the day they will say, "If Allah wills, tomorrow we will break through." The following day they will find the wall as they had left it the previous day (i.e. it will not have returned to its orginal state) and after breaking the remaining part of it they will emerge."

Gog and Magoog
During the reign of Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) people will live a very peaceful and then the wall which imprisons Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj will break and they will surge forth in large numbers.

"But when Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj are let loose and they rush headlong down every hill" (Quran 21:97)

Where are they at the moment?
Right now it is said that they are in in a land of ice which is hidden from our gazes and the exact location of which is unknown.Ya'jooj and Majooj are human beings and some say that are from the progeny of Yafith ibn Nooh (A.S.). unsure.gif

What will happen when Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj come? :: ph34r.gif ::

Heres a hadith by Hadhrat Nawwas ibn Sam'aan (R.A.) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is reported to have said:

"...Allah will send revelation upon Eesa (A.S.) that 'Such a creation of mine is now going to emerge that no power will be able to stop them. Therefore take my servants and ascend the Mount of Toor.' Then Ya'jooj and Majooj will emerge and surge forth in all their fury. When those from among them who constitute the former part of their army pass the lake of Tiberias (which is in northern Palestine), they will drink up all the water of that lake and by the time those that constitute the latter part of that same army pass the lake, they will say, "There used to be water here (long ago). ph34r.gif When they reach the Mount of Khamr in Jerusalem, they will arrogantly proclaim: 'We have conquered the people of the earth, now we will annihilate those in the sky.' So saying they will fire their arrows towards the sky. When the arrows return to the ground they will be blood stained. :runaway

In the meantime, Isa (A.S.) will be on the Mount of Toor with his followers. At that time the head of and ox will be as valuable as is a hundred dinars to you in this day. [This indicates the scarcity of provisions]. Faced with these hardships, Isa (A.S.) and his followers will make dua unto Allah (to remove this calamity). As a result, Allah will cause sores to appear on the necks of each and every individual of these people which will cause their death suddenly. When Isa (A.S.) and his followers descend from the Mount of Toor there will not be a single space on the land where the dead rotting bodies of these people is not littered, giving off a horrendous odour. Isa (A.S.) and his followers will once more supplicate unto Allah as a result of which Allah will send down huge birds whose necks will be as thick as that of the necks of camels, and they will dump these bodies in a place where Allah wills. (According to a narration by Tirmidhi, they will be dumped at a place called Nahbal).

Allah Ta'ala will then send down a heavy rain, the waters of which will flow in every part of the earth cleansing it thoroughly. It will rain for a period of forty days.

The Muslims will then burn the bows and arrows of the Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj for a period of seven years.

Allah will order the earth to yield forth its crops in abundance and there will be such blessing and prosperity that one pomegranate will be sufficient for a whole group while the peel thereof will suffice to cast a shadow over them. The milk of one camel will be sufficient for many groups while one milk giving cow will be sufficient for a whole tribe. One milk giving goat will be sufficent for a whole family..." ::party time::

It wouldn't make sense for non-Muslims to give their perspective on Gog and Magog.

As for the second question, Qadianis are Qadianis.

i've thought about this, and i think gog and magog are in the earth's icecaps. ice ages come and refreeze everything once every 10,000 years or something (rebuilding of the wall), then it starts melting again.

the caps are melting with more rapidity today because of global warming..

That is your say Pagan. This is a public board, your opinion alone matters not my friend. Ahmedis or not, from a scholar's (or even a religious enthusiast) perspective it doesn't matter if the subject being discussed pertains to their own religious beliefs or not.
Heard of Dr.Zakir Naik? I'm sure you have. He's a Muslim, yet he's affluent on Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam and many other religious beleifs. He speaks his mind and his knowledge on all religions. Had he been limited by a Jew in the same manner as you did right now, then his knowledge would've likely been limited toward Judaism itself. More so, if he can sit and discuss topics concerning Islam and Islam alone, with Hindu and other religious scholar's, then neither you nor I have the right to question who states what in this thread.
More so, the right to knowledge or discuss/question it - is not within your jurisdiction. Learn, share and speak what you know about the subject.
Matters such as whether a christian or jew should be posting here in this topic is irrelevant to the point if it concerns/matters to them at all.

Therefore, stick to the topic and the content being discussed here.

If you don't believe in it then shut up. That's my take.

People can talk about things they don't believe in, like Muslims do with Christianity. But what happens when you see Muslims give their take on the Bible. It gets disregarded. Destino is no scholar. Insha either.

If that were the case Islam would have never spread
