lol yeh the deaths were well funny..hahaha @ little boys death, what was he doing chasing pigeons at his age loll..and omg the way he splattered and practically exploded under the glass slab :rolf (its not natural i tell ya 'tongue.gif') I thought the guy that slipped on the spaghetti was funniest death, and all the events leading up to it.

I watched cabin fever last night, aww man it was just so stupid, just got from bad to worse..i guarantee it will leave you asking, ''why did they do that??...why is this happening?..did i just blink and miss a some really significant bit??''...lol..but it was funny...but dunno who the hell called it horror or psychological thriller :huh (the guy sitting behind us kept laughing at the most obscure and nothing parts, ...i don't think he realised what was going on 'tongue.gif') They showed 'chain saw' trailer, i didn't realise they'de remade that until last night :huh Original is good, and fun but u gotta watch it on mute or that girls screaming throughout the entire film will drive you mad 'sad.gif'

I watched ' A Space Odyssey' this weekend...and it was the sickest movie I ever saw! I honestly didn't get what they were trying to show....like, they would show this huge space station for hours...and I mean just show it....with slow, dreamy music in the background, then they showed this bunch of apes on a weird planet worshipping a grey magnetic stone...and then came this bunch of men who were on a mission which the purpose of I still havn't figured out yet....and finally, in the end they show this huge transparent planet with a baby inside it......:huh

I can't beleive I actually watched such a movie....The cover looked very interesting..:huh

I strongly forbid everyone to watch this 'movie' ( although I think it should me called Sesame Street, but even that's more interesting..:huh ) unless they're suffering from sleeplessness...Believe me, Its the best sleeping pill ever invented! :angry

And if someone else has seen ' A Space Odyssey' do be kind enough to tell me what was going on in the television screen infront of me for 2 whole hrs!

:jawdrop ... I love ''..........2001'', I've got the whole book series and the movies made. I think that story is amazing, and Arthur C Clarke is a great author of science fiction. The idea of aliens giving the human race a kick start is wow!!

You guys seen "Identitiy" ? Its about this group of people who get stranded at a lonely motel on a highway during a storm. Then they start dying one by one, it has several great twists in the plot.

Low budget but still a great movie if you are into suspense thrillers. 'wink.gif'

thats good tink :nod 'wink.gif' watching too many films is nothing to be proud of :no ..lol

aaaagghh :steaming @ Identity, someone blabbed the story to me despite my best efforts of :ignore (i dunno if i wanna watch it now, and i was looking forward to it 'sad.gif'....it was reviewed as remake of ''then there were none'' / '཈ little indians'' by agatha christie, but the adaption was hardly recognisable as that.....it just seemed like another whodunnit , but excellently conveyed and super twist)

loll@ spoiling films, i remember when ''usual suspects'' came out, someone had circled kevin spacey and wrote ''its him'' on the movie poster outside the cinema hall :rolf (luckily i'd already seen it 'biggrin.gif')

Shallow Grave (1994)

I love this film, it's is a thriller , black comedy ( very very black). Story is about 3 flatmates who advertise for a 4th flatmate and finally settle on one after some mad interviews. The new flatmate ends up dying soon after he arrives, however leaving a large sum of money behind. The film takes us through the character changes in the three flatmates. They dispose of the dead guy ( really gross scene )and decide to keep the money... then just go mental in their own ways, suspicious of each other, playing each other, as well as fighting off others that are after that money, until finally one gets hands on all the cash. Really well played thru, with a good twist of sorts. Stars Ewan McGregor and Christopher Eccelston

memorable quote :
Alex Law: [to the Goth girl] When you get up in the morning, how do you decide what shade of black to wear? :rolf

4/5 :happy

I havn't seen Identity or Shallow Grave.

What about Daddy day Care? Have you guys seen it? It stars the hilarious Eddie Murphy who works in a company that makes sugar free 'Vegie Cereals' for kids. But off coarse no one buys the gross stuff and he and his partner get thrown out. Then they make this daddy day care centre to earn a living...And you can imagine what happens when businessmen look after Toddlers..The kids give the two one heck of a time...It's got lots of funny scenes.

Its good for a few laughs. Cheered me up when I was in a bad mood. :happy

^ not seen that yet, but i'll get it out next time am in mood for comedy.

Ok so i was bored so i thought i'd put up my GHOSTS OF MARS review 'biggrin.gif'

GHOST OF MARS

First of all..I can't believe they tried to sell it as a remake/adaptation of ''siege at precinct 13''..which happens to be one of the best movies ever, with the best eeriest music score. :angry

Director: John Carpenter
Starring: Ice Cube, Natasha Henstridge, Jason Statham, Pam Grier and Clea DuVall

Plot: Non-existant.
Story: Sheisse

The story is told in flashbacks within flashbacks for some reason known only to the director. A squad of officers sent to pick up a criminal called.....wait for it ''Desolation Williams'' ( Ice)...who happens to be on the most wanted list and apparently very dangerous ( although you honestly wouldn't guess:sarc).....anyway they go to a remote mining town to get him, which turns out to be a ghost town (literally)...anyway dead bodies galore, and crazy obsessed killer people galore who happen to be in town already. So the film turns out to be race for survival from the crazies ( who happen to look like rejects from the mad max films, led by someone who looks uncannily like Marlin Manson:rolf ) .

The good guys gather a few more stragglers along the way and manage to get to the freight train out of town...but wait for it ------> along the way suddenly realise they have too many survivors left:jawdrop..so decide to go back into town:sarc loll, it just keps getting better....:rolf.............and there is also a big predictable twist at the end:zzz

As far as films go its is really really bad, the plot, the acting, the sets : 0.5/5
As for sheer entertainment value, and lauging when you shouldn;t due to stupidity and incredibly bad storyline: 4/5 'biggrin.gif'

BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF (2001) French film, Rated R cos of violence and some :whistle

First I'll start with the poster... I loved the poster to this film, and i'm gonna put it up in the film poster thread in Images section so you can all marvel it as well 'wink.gif'

Director: Christopher Gans
Cast: Samuel Le Bihan (Fronsac), Mark Dacascos (Mani), Monica Beluci..
Theme: Period Horror, action, kung-fu(ish), adventure.

Story: Loosely based on, and inspired by the myth of the Beast Of Gevaudon which stalked and killed a lot of people ( mainly woman and children) in the countryside in 18th century France. The film opens with a peasant woman running away from an unseen assailant, with the occasional growl behind her until she is finally killed by this unseen force. This flashbacks of hammer horrors is quite an effective scene.

Fronsac (animal expert, naturalist, war veteran) on command of the King of France is sent to investigate after the stories of the beast ( wolf-like creature) have become quite widespread. Along with his blood brother Mani (native American) they embark on their adventure, the hunt for the beast. Along the way also encounter love, political intrigue, struggle between church and state, aristocratic bigotry and conspiracy.. and the deep friendship between Froncas and Mani is also depicted very nicely. ( although Mani has to be the most stereotypical indian ever ever..the whole environmentalist, chants, animal guide thing going on:sarc)

The fight scenes are really good and although its well on its way to the kung-fu style of Matrix or Crouching Tiger... they do try to be kinda discreet and inline with the period of the film. The love story in it was also conveyed beautifully.. but sometimes seemed a bit over the top. The cinamtography was amazing and Mark Docascos was quite dishy in the 18th century getup :lovestruc..lol On the whole film was really good including the narrative style of it. It seemed like a cross between 'last of the mohicans' and 'Crouching tiger'..but also much more than that ( althought i wouldn't go as far as calling it epic). It was quite chilling and dark. On the downside, it seemed to drag on a bit and the beast was really disappointing ( if you've seen it or see it soon you know what I mean)'sad.gif'

unusual film, not to everyones taste, but really good;)

^^ so take no-ones seen them or just can't be bothered replying 'sad.gif' .no worries i'll put another review up 'wink.gif'

BATTLE ROYALE

Director: Kinji Fukasaki

This japanese offering is an absolute gore fest! Can be a deep film with important messages or a don't-have-to-think shoot-em up!..depends on the viewer.

story:

A small prequel to the story first introduces us to what Battle Royale is - an act passed by the japanese government where by a class of school kids is selected by impartial lottery and forced to do battle against each other( no rules contest) until there is just one survivor left! This act is passed after the youth revolt due the failing state of japan, the revolt threatens chaos to the rule and BR is a form of control intoduced by the adults.

A class of school kids are drugged and taken to an island where they are fitted with dog collars that can explode if removed and forced to play in battle royale ( which will go on for 3 days, and all will be killed unless there is just one left after that period.) Some kids take to it quickly and turn on each with remarkable speed :sarc others are still reluctant. The film explores the gap between kids and adults, the adults need to assert rule and enforce law, the drive for survival, trust, friendship, love.

I quite liked it, good action, character protrayal was good. Story similar to what was portrayed in 'a clockwork orange'..but i think it tried a bit too hard to mean something..ultimately it was just blood and guts 'wink.gif' . All in all i liked it 'biggrin.gif'. I think the sequel to it came out this year. anyone seen it?

hi
im sobia
the movies that i've watched so far that came out about a year ago and that I liked:
gladiater
phone booth
lord of the ring, fellowship of the ring and the two towers
harry potter, chamber of secrets,
a beautiful mind
Road to Perdition (must watch)
Finding nemo

All of there were really really good. The best one was Road to Perdition and Gladiator. All of these movies' stories were great. Espeically the story of Road to Perdition was great. It was basically about a boy whose dad dies at the end making his son not become like him. I cried at the end

loll @ your answer..I kinda suspected that:p Don;'t think anyone watches the movies i watch (can't exactly see them fallin over themselves to respond:sarc) or they're smart enough not to admit watching them, unlike me :huh lol

OMG I watched , sorry tried to watch the sequel to Texas Chainsaw Massacre ( the sequel to the original film)... it was sooo soo bad , I can't emphasise enough how sh*t it was , it was so cringingly bad that i watched most of the film with the channel flicked to some other 'wink.gif'..lol am not even gonna bother askin if anyone's seen that.

hahaa @ ur reaction to 2001, actually it's same reaction as my younger bro - so obviously i put the film on just to annoy him every now and then ( it's in the contract 'wink.gif' )

I've not seen Thunderpants ( I believe i have finally grown out of them films, thats a pretty big achievement for me 'tongue.gif')
